Couldn't find anything except one review from Amazon on this single up-converting player that offers both SACD & DVD-Audio so I thought I'd ask here. This might be fairly new so that could be a reason why I haven't found much info.

But how does this player compare to what's currently out there?

Are you sure, Larry? I thought it was the SP404=490V, not the SP504 (which may be a 578/588). (I've asked in the other thread whether that equation was a typo.)

I just read the link I put in the thread. I know nothing about the players. If the others made typos, well.... :) Having both the 404 and 504 be the same would be odd unless one was a multidisk or had some other extra.

As I wrote there, the Onkyo 404 is the Pio 490V. I was then (mis)quoted as saying that it was the 504, about which I know nothing. - DR
