I am unable to decide which Oppo will be best for my TV. I had couple of questions in respect to the difference between the 970 and the 981.

As my TV supports 1080p, i was wondering if the 981 can display Jpegs burned on DVD/CD to the TV natively. It would have sealed the deal if it had a USB port for Images/MP3s.

As I understand, the 981 can play practically anything you can throw at it, including HD DivX and Xvid ( do they encode 5.1 as well???) where the 970 has some limitations. Is that true?

Irrelevant of the cost, which Oppo should I order?

and when I do get it, are there any optimizations I need to do on the DVD player to get the best pic possible?
I looked in the forums and could not find specifics in respect to both the TV and DVD player so I apologize if this issue has been covered already.
