I will unfortunately have to set my crossover for 100hz, not sure if that matters with either of these. Mix of HT and music. My room is about 3000 cubic feet, but I usually don't push my system past 20dB under reference. I do need the small form factor of these two subs, and I do need the EQ.

Any thoughts?

The DD-12 has the SMS-1 built in, so if you already have the SMS-1 it will be redundant.

I had the Seismic 12 and thought it was an excellent sub for it's size/price. I haven't heard the DD-12 but I do have the SMS-1 and it's a fantastic tool that has a huge impact on the sound.

Both are great retail subs. I'd go with the DD-12 myself as a personal preference cause I have heard it and it was good ;)

I do have the SMS, but I would sell it if I went the DD route. At this point, I am kinda leaning that way. Any other opinions?

Greg,

I would go with the D12 ,from the description you gave. Cut higher the DD12 easy, gets my approval over a Seismic 12 with...just about any piece you can match it with.

For HT and mains cut 80Hz or below, the Seismic 12 is a better value.
