Out of curiosity if nothing else:

How do traditional "-R camp" recorders (Panasonic, Pioneer, Toshiba, Samsung, etc) treat +RW when they record on them? Do they record them in:

1) Video mode
2) VR mode
3) +VR mode

Do you have to finalize +RW created with "-R camp" recorders before they play back on newer dvd players (that play +RW)?

I don't remember what my Samsung VR330 does after it initializes my Memorex+RW discs (2-year old 25-pack) but my manual reads ...

-------------
"DVD+RW Disc Playback and Recording
• With DVD+RW discs, there is no difference between DVD-Video format (Video mode) and DVD-Video Recording format (VR mode).
• You can make your own chapters on DVD+RWs and edit them using the Chapter Edit menu.
• Finalizing is generally unnecessary when using a DVD+RW disc."
-------------

My Toshiba HD-A1 is not compatible with +R or +RW discs, so I just use my Samsung VR330 to watch my recorded HDTV 16x9 shows, then I erase it for the next recordings.

My Panny DMR-ES10K will not record on DVD +RW.
