http://www.yamaha.com/yec/products/productdetail.html?CNTID=451774&CTID=5001800
DivX Ultra certified; plays all versions of DivX video (including DivX 6) with enhanced playback of DivX media files and the DivX media format.

I have just purchased one of these, as I had been given a gift certificate for Best Buy, for $100. and Spent a bit more then I wanted, but so far I am very pleased.
Best buy is $179.
JR is $149.

It has read every DVD I have thrown at it.... + or - and Picture with newly purchased DVD's is excellent with progressive scan... viewing in 1080i, passing audio & video via HDMI.

I know I could have purchased a few different brands including the Oppo for a bit more... but Im not running 1080p on my 50" 9UK. But I think I got what I wanted... I use my Modded Xbox to stream movies and music from my servers, but the DVD player was starting to get old and fussy about reading disks, and wasn't a progressive scan unit.

Remote is kinda cheezy, but I'll be programming that into my learning remote..
And Im not a huge fan of the gold led's on the face..

But All in all... So far so good...

Just thought Id toss out some info, as this is a pretty new unit...

I just got this player as well and I'm having some trouble.

When I watch a DVD at via HDMI, The image looks like it's getting stretched.

When I watch a DVD via component, it looks like its' being zoomed. I'm loosing a noticeable amount on the sides.

Any ideas why this would be happening? I've using the player with my Z2 projector and I've got the HDMI set to 1080i and the player set for 16x9

Thanks.

I just purchased this player at a local Frys on sale for $115.....I was looking for a good divx player that would play everything including larger size files.....So far I like it, plays everything as you would expect. I don't feel like opening the box, and I cannot find any info on the net so here is my question:
What chip/combination of chips is used in this player?
