Hey guys I just picked up a Syntax Olevia 537h the other day and have a spare computer laying around. I was thinking about installing ubuntu 6.10 and adding beryl for some home theater eye candy. I was wondering if the MyHD 130 card is supported in the linux world. I really want to record my shows. I also want to use the box as a storage server (500gigs) running nfs and samba so my roommates can get on it(windows users).
My main computer is my macbook and I love it. I hope I can mount my dvd rips onto my macbook from the ubuntu box so it shows up in frontrow :)
I was wondering if the MyHD 130 card is supported in the linux world. its currently unsupported....the big hurdle (and it IS a big one) is to try to get support for the Janus Mpeg 2 decoder. See http://myhd.sourceforge.net/index.php. I'm sure Mike would appreciate any help you can provide him. After that, adding support for the card shouldn't be difficult.

thanks man I stumbled across that once searching the mythtv forums. I might just sell the MyHD 130+DVI card and get a Fusion 5 Gold card. I should be able to do a straight swap since the fusion is about the same price as a used myhd130.
