Im in the process of building my stage and seat riser. What overhang should I use on both. Im going to cover the stage and riser with carpet and install 1/2in rope light under the overhangs. I was thinking between 1.5in to 2in. Any sugestions?

I did 1.5 inches and managed to hide the rope completely but it took a lot of extra effort to make sure the rope was perfectly snug in the groove. Should I do it again..id do 2 inches.
