My HD DVR broke today. The damn thing will not turn on. I was on the phone with D* and all they told me to do was press the reset button, and then within two seconds press the power button. Are they serious? What a joke. Does any one here know how I can fix this. They are supposed to ship me a new one, but I have a couple of shows on there my wife has not watched yet, so I need to be able to get in there and watch them. Any advice would be great.

If the DVR is dead, there's nothing you can do to get the shows off it.

Thankfully, most networks now have their shows online. Just go to their web site. If you don't want to watch shows streamed live online with your computer, you can buy them on iTunes and burn them to DVD.
