I just ordered a BIC H-100 sub, so now i need to order some cable for the connection. Hopefully I can get some input on the placement so I know which length to order. I dont have a subwoofer now, so unfortunately I cant test it myself.

I want to place the woofer behind the sofa (A) because it makes the room look better than having it along the wall (B). I have outlined the walls and corners with red, note: the space is an open concept so there's no walls behind the sofa or on 2nd half of top-left of diagram.

Also I have read the sub will sound nice, more efficient thus less distortion if i place it in the corner. Can someone share personal experience with this? If this makes a big difference, I can put the sub beside my front speaker in the corner.

Well is that room sealed.......is there a wall behind the subwoofer.......is that subwoofer in a corner?

look at the attachment.....does that look like your room?

the room is not sealed. the first floor where my entertainment center is located is a open concept design. further behind the sofa is my dining table, with no wall in between the sofa and table.

I would put the sub in either the front right or front left corner. You wanted it corner loaded to give you the most bang.... (next to one of the main speakers, but like 3inches from either wall)
