My 6 year old Boston PV600 Powered subwoofer speaker broke. Its going to be around $200 to fix I paid $400 for it 6 years ago.

Do you guys think its worth fixing? And if I did get a new one what would you recommend that would be better? I manily do movie watching. Something in that same price range or even cheaper?

How would the HSU STF-2 Subwoofer compare to a working Boston PV600?

I like Boston Acoustic speakers and subs. The PV600 would be worth fixing...but if you
can afford it the HSU STF2 at $350 (shipped) is a good value. You would get
a 200W amp (compared to PV600 120W) and get deeper extension (25HZ compared
to 29HZ of the Boston. Of course I'm recommending HSU because I have owned
3 of them (currently VTF3.3 w/turbo) so I'm biased. SVS also makes some fine
subs, but I've never heard one (but people that own them seem to be very
satisfied customers)........vardo
