I took a bit to try to figure out where in the forum this question go and its ending up here. There is a good chance its in the wrong spot but, I gave up.

I am wondering what setup changes should be made from going from movies/music to gaming? IE: sub levels, crossovers, speaker levels, receiver settings.
I have a 5.1 setup with a modern receiver and a PS3.

Thanks.

There is no standard for game audio mixing, so the game audio people who really care (which aren't all of them) often opt for the movie standard.

Gaming is closer to movies than to music. Thus, if you have a good movie set-up, you may already be well set up for gaming. The biggest concern would be if your system somehow added undue delay to the overall signal, so it was out of sync with the video.
