I am in the last stages of building my HT. I have successfully worked through all issues except one...The window in my HT. I would prefer to ditch it and dry wall it in. The wife however is against it. She is most concenred with ventalation in the room. Although it has two doors to the inside of the house, when the room is closed up it will likely get hot and not have an outlet without opening the doors.

I am sure I can get blackout blinds if needed. The noise that will go through the window not much of an issue....I just don't want a window.. any advice?

Sounds like a compromise is required here.

Some guys have described making a Window Plug. Basically a fabricated panel that sits inside the window casing with an inside layer to match the walls/wall treatments and a layer of insulation/padding added to reduce sound transmission. It fits into place for normal movie viewing and if you need access to the window you lift it out of it's position and store someplace.

If you could post a picture of the window and it's location we may have other suggestions.
