I've had my sony for 15 months now. I have the following issues that are really irritating me since I got my Xbox 360:

1) Overscan! - the edges of all my games are cut off and the games themselves don't give me controls to compensate. For example, in Lost Planet, the numbers and gauges go off the screen on the right and left by what seems to be a few mm. I can adjust for the top and bottom in the normal tv menus (but only to an extent). But no option to adjust horizontally unfortunately. It is as if the screen is zoomed in a bit.

This problem is also evident on HDTV broadcasting. Basically the HDTV signals are not centered in the screen. it is center-weighted to the right. Thus the right side of the program is cut off more than it should. This does not appear to happen with the 360 though. For what it is worth the 360 is using componet cables (transmiting 1080i, though I sometime change my 360 to transmit 720p) and the OTA reciever is a DVI to HDMI connection (1080i).

2) Gemoetry. The left and top areas of the screen have worse geometry than the rest of the screen. Straight lines on the left going from the bottom to the top start to move to the left nearing the top of the screen. Striaght lines going from the right top to the left top begin to lower as they reach the top left area.

3) Convergence. I understand having some issues at the edges for CRT and some slight gemoetry is acceptable too (though the gemetry is borderline acceptable). However again, convergence is worst in the same area that gemotry is. Top left corner of the screen. White letters have a red halo around them in this area. The red is to the right of the white, and just slightly below it I believe. Maybe 1-2 pixels to the right and 0-1 pixels down.

So, can any one help me to fix these problems?

The most important to me is the overscan, followed by convergence, followed by gemotry.

So how do I fix these using the service menu? How do I even enter the service menu. Other than the described issues the rest of the tv looks great and is perfectly usable. I just would like to improve the picture (and read text in games that goes of screen). Thanks.
