The new film, Wild Hogs, from Touchstone releases today. I think this looks quite funny and has a very good cast (Tim Allen, John Travolta, Martin Lawrence and William H. Macy). I also think this will be another Blu-ray Exclsuive which will crack the 100 Million mark within a few weeks. What does everyone else think about this release?

Hmmm.. I don't think so. It's taking a pretty good beating on www.rottentomatoes.com. Its only at 15%............. I thought it would do much better with the actors they have in it, but I guess that did not help.

OK, Maybe I'm Wrong :) I don't know, it just looks good to me. We will see how it does in the long run.

Touchstone is owned by Buena Vista, so technically it is.

what? that guy is funny as hell and i have enjoyed almost every movie he has ben in. my wife and i and another couple went to see wild hogs tonight. it was one of the funniest movies (all the way through to the end)i have seen in a long time. still can't believe that you think martin lawrence movies are crap, some of my favorites that he is in , like bad boys 1 and 2 , blue streak ect.. are funny /good action movies. oh well each his own , but i enjoyed wild hogs (so did the wife and friends that went with us) and would recommend it to anyone.

I had no interest in seeing this based on the synopsis, but after watching the trailer I am all about it.

Looks really good with some potentially funny parts.

Will wait for BD though.

I am sure this movie will not be that great, but due to its safe content and big names will do fairly well at the box office.

Not sure it will do that great as a BD, probably middle of the road in sales for a BD.

umm... I think that HD-DVD is quite comfortable with this as a Blu-ray exclusive.
Geez when did William H. Macy jump the shark?

I find movies like Bad Boys, Big Momma's House, and Blue Streak to be absolute trash. His sitcom was even worse. You want a funny black guy? Check out Bill Cosby, because Lawrence definitely ain't the one.

i really hope your kidding bill cosby lol now thats funny. that guy is so dry it's not funny at all. i guess if you like dry comedy, can't ever say a swear word in anything you are in then i guess he would be funny to you. bad boy's was funny as heck, big momma's house not so much, blue streak was funny. next you will tell me eddie murphy ,cris rock and dave chapelle are not funny, but like i said each his own and i will continue to lmfao at any of those guy's movies (or atleast 90% of them) and you can enjoy such funny bill cosby movie classics as fat elbert (he's tv show was the best of anything he ever done or has done since).

That was probably one of the most ignorant things I've read all week. Bill Cosby *IS* funny. That's not a subjective opinion up for debate. Now you may not enjoy his type of humor because you enjoy the more crude stuff, but if you haven't already why don't you check out some Richard Pryor stuff.

My parents went to see Wild Hogs last night. They went to see it at one of those places where you sit down, order your food, and the waiter brings it out to you. Its like a restaurant/movie theater. Anyways, they had to sit on the front row and said that the employees had to bring in extra tables and chairs because it was sold out. Despite having to look straight up it was one of the funniest movies they have seen in a long time. I have learned over time to not trust review sites.

My parents saw the movie last Saturday at a sneak preview.

They both thought it was a great movie and absolutely hilarious! I think the whole premise of the movie is quite funny and wouldn't mind checking it out...

The chances of this hitting 100 million, especially with 300 dropping this week, is slim to none IMO.

We will see. I think this movie will appeal to couples and even families to a certain degree. I think if it has a strong weekend, it may hit 100 Million within 6 weeks or less.

It could, but historically Comedies released in this time period of pre-summer do not do as well as Summer movies which are lucky themselves to hit 100 million.

Martin Lawrence is one of the most unfunniest guys ever. I can't believe some people think otherwise. Everything he does is annoying and his movies are incredibly stupid. The only Martin Lawrence I semi-enjoyed was What's The Worst That Could Happen. As for Wild Hogs, I thought the previews were great and was actually looking forward to it despite Martin Lawrence's involvement. Not exactly on my must-see list though.

Dragon,

I agree the previews for this one look great. As far as Martin Lawrence goes, I could take him or leave him, it doesn't really matter to me. I thought he was VERY good in "Nothing To Lose" with Tim Robbins. The fact of the matter is that he does have a big following within a demographic of our country and that alone tends to bring decent audiences to his films. Add to that John Travolta, Tim Allen and William H. Macy and "Wild Hogs" should generate some decent dollars. Here is a quick list of some of Martin Lawrences notable movies:

Bad Boys
Bad Boys II
Big Moma's House
Big Moma's House II
National Security
Nothing To Lose
Blue Streak
Open Season

Wild Hogs was #1 this Weekend bringing in $38 Million!! WOW!! Nice opening weekend numbers.

LOS ANGELES - The biker buddy comedy "Wild Hogs" and its ensemble cast of John Travolta, Martin Lawrence, William H. Macy and Tim Allen was the weekend box office champ with a $38 million take, according to studio estimates Sunday. It was Walt Disney Co.'s biggest March opening ever. It was also the largest-ever debut for the 53-year-old Travolta as well as the best non-animated movie debut for Allen, who is also 53. Macy turns 57 next week and Lawrence turns 42 next month.

"It's so easy to see in the material how much fun they were having together. The audience was looking for that first great comedy of the year," said Disney president of distribution Chuck Viane.

"Wild Hogs" performed well beyond expectations, said Paul Dergarabedian, president of box-office tracker Media By Numbers. It had been expected to be No. 1 with earnings in the $25 million range, he said.

I'll give you "Nothing to Lose," as that was an enjoyable flick; however, those other ones are complete and utter trash. And the fact that they actually do well when they come out makes me fear for the future of humanity.

I fear for people who dont know how to have fun anymore. Either way tis just preference. I own every movie on that list except the Big Mommas House movies which were terrible. Im not right or wrong but most movie goers are looking for a good time in theatres and to be able to relax and forget about the real world for 90 minutes or 2 hours.

Wild Hogs gets a rating of 7 from me and my wife...it was good for a few laughs. I wouldn't buy it on disc though. I would rate it as a one time viewing...Good rental when it comes out.
