I really love my setup, and it's always a work in progress. I think a new video card for the PC is in order.

ah, clutter. I can relate. It reminds me of what they say about spreadsheets. You never finish a worksheet, you merely stop working on it. Welcome to the fun and don't stop working or forget that it's all about the enjoyment.

That's a pretty good setup for college.

Most we had was a 27" TV and an EDO (my roommate didn't think the Playstation 1 would last. )

haha! i know, it's like a virus, it spreads... hdtv, need directv, need to watch downloaded shows, need another pc, need surrond sound of course, need new reciever, need a sub to make the bass sound nice, need a good sound card for the pc so i can have digital out, need more hard drive space, need a pony, need to sleep.

i'm pretty happy with my setup thus far. we used to have a 48" rear projection from 1990 that we got for free, replaced the high voltage block, plugged in s-video.... ****** picture, but hey, it's big! haha. i figured that taking out a 2 year no-interest plan at best buy would be worth it. taxes came back, paid off. good thing i work 30 hours a week and make tips to support this addiction. although my retirement fund doesn't appreciate it, neither will my student loan lenders. haha

thanks for some feedback. toss any suggestions my way.

oh yea, and "i'm going to clean up the clutter right after i get the (insert next toy here) hooked up to the set up..... "

Very nice setup on a budget. I'm trying to start my own, though I'm not too happy with my new Westinghouse lcd...Bad beginnings!

Heh I can relate to the Harmony 880 "I love I love I love". Great remote.

Heh I can relate to the Harmony 880 "I love I love I love". Great remote.
It was a good price for a completely customizable remote for functionality.
It could have more bells and whistles, but those pretty things cost money.
My girlfriend can even manage to work this. That's amazing.

Dude! move your PC! The sub can't be good for the hard drives!!

It's a nice setup though...

I like your setup. I've been thinking about setting up an old computer and using it as a media center

It works great for xvid stuff, then I started downloading x264 stuff... Now I crave core 2 duo for it.

Another poor person why don’t you using matching loudspeakers placed at the correct room height. And that screen, poor you’re saying you’re poor! Most poor people can’t afford luxuries like that.

I’d say the design layout is poor for starts, so start over again and see how things are done in professional cinemas for starts.

You certainly are not poor! :) For a college kid that's a great set of components! The most important thing is that YOU enjoy what you have!

oh, I just meant my equipment is a little above average for my friends.

tip me off on the correct room height, i'm not too audio savvy, any tips are greatly welcome. i'm poor, but i spend my money on the things i enjoy =].

currently in the market for an xbox and new htpc set up.
