I just got my 1031q and I'm amazed already, and I'm just running composite video from the cable box. I'm going to get an iscan line doubler and an extron sync convertor but am unsure how to get video from the convertor to the projector. bnc? buffered local monitor output?
if anyone can help, I'd be in debt
The way I've always done it is as follows...
HTPC or line doubler ---> Extron computer interface (I've used the RGB-109) ---> RGBS BNC to 25 pin RGB2 port adapter ---> RGB2 port on the 1031Q.
So it goes...
15 pin VGA ---> BNC RGBS ---> 25 pin RGB2 connector
The RGBS BNC to 25 pin RGB2 port adapter is hard to find. Sometimes you can find one on eBay. I heard that B&H Photo sells them, though they are VERY expensive. The route you'll probably want to go is...
Line doubler ---> 15 pin VGA to 25 pin RGB2 connector breakout cable ---> RGB2 port on the 1031Q
Someone on here can probably help you find a suitable breakout cable for your application, or here are instructions for building one...

If you think the 1031Q looks sweet on crappy composite video be prepared to be blown away by progressive SD video!
so then, what resolution do you set your display adapter to on the HTPC?
