I just rented fear on saturday, and ended up beating it in about 8 hours. I thought it was a pretty enjoyable game, but i am wondering about the story.

At the end when you kill the demon girl are you really killing her, or is it just a vision.

Also, at the very end after the credits roll through, they say that the first prototype was a sucess. So is it correct to assume that Pattel was not the first prototype and that the character that you are playing is the prototype?

Thanks for the advice and any light that you can provide on the subject. I had to play at extremely low volumes and could rarely hear any of the dialogue in the game.

It's very difficult to hear the in-game spoken audio regardless of volume setting. That is, you can be standing right next to an answering machine and still have problems distinctly hearing what's coming out of it, depending on exactly how your character is positioned. As a result, I too had trouble making sense of a lot of the game's plot nuances.

I would say that you are shooting at another vision of her because just before the credits role, after the Origin facility is destroyed and you are picked up by your 2 team members, you see her start to climb into the helicopter.

My impression about the original prototype was that it is indeed the person you are playing. Fettel would be the second I believe.

Nope shes not dead, in the expansion pack on the PC she still lives.

Yeah i saw her climbing onto the chopper it was pretty cool
