Is 1080i best setting for a Xbox 360 ? My Samsung (I thought 1366X760 was 1080i)

My LCD native resolution is 1366X 768. I am trying to
reduce lag and trying to set a optimal setting to help.

I have tried VGA , the colrs are better but pic is to
dark. I have to turn brightness up to 85 to see everything and that dulls the overall picture.- So I went back to component. I have a
samsung lnr269d
Thanks ....

I would set it at 720p because the game is native 720p. Then the 360 will send that native signal to your TV, which may or may not scale it.

I connect vis VGA and my Sony LCD has 1:1 pixel mapping. It accepts a 720p signal and then does not scale it. I have teenie tiny black bars vertically on either side of the picture (they are only 3 pixels wide!). So by setting the 360 output to 720p then the resolution is not scaled at all.

In your case using component, you set may not support 1:1 pixel mapping. No problem. Your set will scale the 720p signal to it's native resoultion.

Short answer....720p IMO.

If you set it to 1080i, then the 360 scales teh games native resoulution, then you TV has to scale 1080i to your sets native resolution.

If set to 720 p, then the content is only scaled once...by your set.

I also have a samsung lcd(23" I believe) with the same native resolution. I recently switched back to vga from component because vga really gives a crystal clear detailed picture. When using vga on my lcd the only setting I can change are contrast and brightness. I think I have the contrast set at 87 and brightness at 47. If your using a lcd tv that is relatively small, 720p by component should do the trick.
