If you want to play the xbox version it is back compat.

The Half-life 2 pack (team fortress, portal...ect) has been pushed back until next year...so who knows?

They pushed it to 2008. If it really takes that long no one will be interested. They should cancel it!

I agree that it is very odd that they've pushed it back so much...especially considering that this game came out quite a while ago. I've played through the original xbox version, but admit that I do want to play the 360 version. I'm dissapointed that they've delayed it.

I never played the PC version so I can't compare. I played the xbox version on the 360, which does a decent job smoothing out some of the graphics. When I played there was MASSIVE slowdown in some areas, but I've heard that they've fixed it. Content-wise I've heard that it was identical...but without Counter Strike Source.

I thought it was an above average game. I'm looking forward to the 360 version...whenever they decide to release it.

play it on the PC. it's where it's best. Sorry, but the xbox version sucked. might be the same content and all, but the pace is just hideous. Any PC should be able to run this by now and it's own of the best gaming experiences PERIOD.

I haven't played the PC version, but I'll probably agree. My PC isn't good enough to run games (no real graphic card) so I avoid PC games. If you're going to play it now then I suggest the PC...plus you can play Episode 1 now.

I have this game on PC actually, i installed it and never played it because (i know you guys will hate because i say this) i dont like using keyboard and mouse. To me it takes away from the fun of games, having so many commands and different keys. That and i play on laptop, and usually dont use a mouse so iam stuck with the little touch pad, whcih makes games really hard.

You do know that it isn't just the Half-Life 2 port that is the hold-up, but the release of Episode 2 that is causing the delay right?

Episode 2, Portal, and Team Fortress are all new games. Half-Life 2 and Episode 1 are bonuses. Why are people acting like this is four year old content?

I wish we had a sticky in this forum with a list of confirmed and tentative 360 release dates for games.

Its valve software, don't be surprised if its delayed till 2009.

I have this game on PC actually, i installed it and never played it because (i know you guys will hate because i say this) i dont like using keyboard and mouse. I bought it when I got my brand-spanking new computer a few years ago to see how good it looked/played, and I never finished it. I even forget where I left off. me too, I used to love Fortress on Quake. I could care less about HL2 stuff other than Fortress.

I am excited as well. I got Half Life 2 for the PC, and I will gladly play it again on the 360. What a gorgeous game too. I am curious to see how it will look on the 360.

I played Half-Life 2 on original Xbox on my Infocus X1 projector and loved it! I know you purists say "bah!- don't bother with the Xbox version!" but I found it to be a great shooter (and I'm a huge Halo fan also...). To me, Half Life is like the "thinking man's" shooter. ;)

Now I have a 720p projector and will look forward to all this goodness on 360! Yes!

Yes, I really hope this translates well to consoles. If it does it is a must buy. The PC version is one of the greatest if not the greatest fps of all time. I really want MS to come out with a kb/m combo like the FRAG FX. That will probably influence my decision on which console I buy it for.

Will this be live anywhere or whatever? Can you play against pc dudes? If so, then a kb/m would really help to be competitive.

i'm miserable that there's no CS:S

even my old pc can play the wonderful source engine HL2 pretty well, so that makes the 360 version even less appealing

valve is dedicated and wonderfully inventive, but they need to realize that they're not the entire world and we won't wait forever

if i had CSS on the 360 i'd be very happy

i still would say that hl2 is probably the most polished and imaginative game i've played in a long time; i think it takes the cake for the pc like halo did for consoles

half life could be delayed 6 years and still do great. There is nothing on the console that even compares to this type of game. I love my 360, and I played hl2 3 times on pc, 1 time through on xbox....but pc is where it belongs. Half life has a huge fan base, but it's console fan base is peanuts compared to the PC one. I'm sure they are trying to change that since we all know where the real money is these days. So I expect the 360 version will look and play very well.

I wonder if HL orange box for the 360 will be compatible with Games for Windows? If so that would be pretty kick ass.

What I've read recently is Valve announcing a delay of a few weeks for the PS3 Orange Box. From Sept. 5th (http://www.gamespot.com/news/6178220.html):Speaking with GameSpot at this year's EA Studio Showcase, Valve director of marketing Doug Lombardi confirmed that the PS3 version of The Orange Box "will trail the PC and Xbox 360 versions by a couple of weeks."Anybody have some more recent info?

I think there are more TF2 fans than you think. I'm sure there will be more than enough people buying the 360 version. You make it seem like everyone who buys Halo isn't buying any other game. :p I actually put my preorder down on the Orange Box and decided to just buy Halo next year since there is some many other games I want first.

We are a minority!...I really wished Orange Box would be able to tie in the 360 and PC version for gaming because that would extend the life greatly. I think TF2 will have a huge following on the pc but it will dwindle down on the 360...

The upside is that majority of the games who have squealing little brats wont exist anymore in other games since everyone is going to Halo 3.

I want TF2 pretty bad, hell I want the whole orange box package but I am going to take the wait and see approach and see how the community turns out...

Halo 3 could be a blessing in disguise. As stated above, I think Halo 3 will attract the type of players you DON'T want to play with, leaving the more mature players to TF2. Of course, I am generalizing. Not all Halo fans are immature, so if I offended anyone, I apologize.

It's funny that you mention all the little whiny brats on XBOX Live. I used to play games randomly, but now I have enough people on my friends list so I don't have to. Playing off your friends list is the only way to go, IMO. Hell, I've been playing games with the same crew for close to 4 years now. Can't beat that!

i've played COD3 a bunch with random guys, but no one really talked during that anyway, so it wasn't a big deal. the few times i've done random coop GRAW missions or other games, half the time the guys i play with shoot me in the first 30 seconds of the game, even though they are on my team!

What's the proper order to play the campaigns. HL2, then episode 1, then episode 2? Or do the episodes come first? Anyone care to edumicate me a lil' on this highly praised IP. Do they even have an order? Or, are they completely different games and stories?

Haha we use to do that all the time to people in R63...We would do terrorist hunt and just shoot our guys and toss a grenade and see who could get blown further down the stairs..Ahh good times.

I want to pick up Orange Box bad!...But my current games I am playing didnt really take a hit on XBL so I am still sticking with those. Plus I just picked up Eternal Sonata so once I get through with that game I may pick up Orange box at a discount...Im pumped for that game though.
