In Crackdown, I remember someone saying that after you level up your driving skills to 4 stars and then max out the skill, one of your vehicles gets spikes on the tires.

The question is: after getting to 4 stars, does 'maxing out' the stat have any effect? If so, do you max it out to 99 or back to 0?

I've maxed out strength completely and after you've gotten it to 99 again it just shows two dashes to represent it being completely done. It has had no effect on the skill in terms of gameplay, but doing this with all the skills is one of the achievements.

So once you max out with 4 stars and you get 2 dashes, does that mean you cannot get lower than the max amount? Right now I am 4 stars in strength and like 10% through to max, but I figured it was OK to start punching civilians because I was already max.

If you get max -- and you punch civilians, do you lose skill? The reason I ask is because I am not 4 stars in all and I want that achievement but i also like punching civilians in the face.

Yeah man, why you hating on the civilians?

Get your skill up to the max "--" and then use that skill to raise hell on the civilians. No penalty. I have max on agility and strength and like 4.5+ stars on all the others. I can't wait to get max on driving and then take the truck cab down the road for some chaos. The explosive skill will be fun as well to not have to worry about the penalty.

One way to help with your skill leveling is to do that rampage achievement. Do some of those early boss time trials and pick a rampage sub-achievement to focus on and before you know it you'll have a lot of points and an achievement unlocked.

hum, I didn't realize that the time trials would also be a good way to unlock achievements. I've been lamenting the fact that I offed the Los Muertos gang so quickly since the Volk and Shi-Gen are so much harder to kill in HtH or piss-off in large numbers. I still need the commandering achivement and most of the non-explosives related rampage achievements...

Yeah, you have to MAX out all of your stats to have the super agent... ;)
