Has anyone out there started doing HD-SDI mods for source components yet, similar to what is available for SD-SDI? If so, can someone direct me there?

Is there anybody out there doing HD-SDI mods on D-VHS decks?

the status is that I will hopefully be doing them pretty soon :D, very exciting times indeed ;)

all scaler companies need to take heed and deploy HD-SDI inputs on everything, hopefully we will see a HD-SDI input for the DVDO VP's this year!

Have you noticed any discernable differences between HDMI and HD-SDI on your display?

My display is a G90 and it is not HDCP compliant so I can't compare

Peter

Contact Bas van de Wetering @ Customerservice@jvbdigital.com, if he can't help you PM me for Casper Rheinhold's email address, if you send it to him I am sure he can modify, only downfall might be on screen display, I am not sure though

Where did you get the kit and how much did it cost?

Have you thought about using an HDCP compliant input board on your G90 (as I have) from the likes of John or Moome?
I take it you're using these players with CII and going to the G90 RGBHV. Do you feed the CII 1080i or passthrough 1080P via HD-SDI?

Cheers

Looks like JVB (from post #2) have their own HD-SDI board for DVDO VPs -- says it works in combination with existing SD-SDI too.

I run native HD-SDI (about 35' feet) out of the players into a NEC Theatersync that upscales to 1080P, I run about 18" of RGBHV out of the NEC into the G90.

I would rather have the Theatersync upscale to 1080P than the HDCP compliant input boards,

I would prefer to have Casper actually make the HD-SDI input for Marquees (CRT PJ's) that he went as far as to take money for & yet still has not produced.

People should be very hesitant to place trust in Casper/Reinhold, his track record is not that great, & communication is non-existent.

thanks :)

Yes I have been looking at that as well, I think I might actually be able to do this myself if I would ever get the time, I already have to many projects and commitments on my bench :p

JVB's HD-SDI modifications are Caspers, Casper gave back the deposits to all who asked for them back including myself.

Casper has been very helpfull in regard to technical and customer support for actual hardware, he will not however answe any questions about upcoming products. He has been very helpful when I had an issue with the HD-SDI upgrade that turned out to be a problem with the NEC Theatersync.

LJG,

Does it appear by my tone that I got a refund? Do you think I forgot to ask??
Matters little to me that JVB uses circuitry designed by Casper unless JVB is willing either to make the product I seek or give me a refund.

Mark:

I don't understand what you mean by rebate, did you ask Casper for your money back and not receive it?

Changed the wording to refund.
My last 5 emails have gone unanswered. I might as well be sending smoke signals
to Zurich. Hell, I was even in Zurich & could get no response.
