I was about to buy a HLS5087W and I read in the forums that Samsung is coming out with new models in April. The HLS5087W is going to cost me $1540. Should I wait for the new models? Will there be that much of a difference?

I personally like buying the newest technology rather than getting a discount on older technology. They usually make at least small improvements year-to-year.

Get a LED or laser driven RPTV, not a bulb unit. Bulbs are dinosaurs just waiting to become extinct. By the end of 2007 you should have long lasting, non-bulb options available from Mitsubishi, Sony, Panasonic, and Samsung. Don't buy the last horse and buggy when motorcars are just around the corner.

I would wait until the April models come out. I don't think the prices will be all that different from what these models were last year..
I have an HLR5087W which was the last of the pedestal models. It still works and looks great, so if you do decide on the HLS5087W, it still is going to be a great unit..
