Wanted to make this a new thread from my 'replacement' thread
here's the deal, BB finally authorized replacement of my sony kp57ws510
the manager suggested the mits wd-57731 as a replacement because they didn't have a sony in the same size that wasn't 720p, searching the website shows they have a sony KDS-55A2000 at the store, so my question is the sony sufficiently better than the mits to take the hit on 2" less of screen? assuming i can get them to swap to the sony instead of the mits, thanks for any help

Take the Sony if they'll give it to you; IMO the variable iris and better shadow detail and blacks is worth giving up two inches.

Definitely take the Sony, the 731 series Mits has contrast ratio actually poorer than many flat panel lcds, and not nearly as flexible as far as user settings.

well as i was afraid of, they pulled the 'original price' gambit so that makes the mits swap an extra 100 bucks and the sony 500, can't afford that especially not with another ext warranty which i'm going to have to wait to get even for the mits cause of funding shortages...
so i'm going to have to live with the mits ("live with it" lol i'm going to a newer, brighter, progressive display, call me greedy :D )

thanks again for everyones advice and information
