i wanted to see if anyone knew of any retailers or online shops that may have Sony 36" CRT HDTV's (4:3 size) still in stock - 36xs955 in particular. I just purchased a 40xbr800 on craigslist and got it hooked up and the HDTV picture is tremendous - I don't see how the new LCDs and Plasmas can top it. Now, it takes up some room and was a hassle to move but was very worth what I paid for it and it only has minor "green goblin" problems on one side. Looking for a 36" set for a smaller room and haven't seen the 36" ones much over the last few months at the Best Buys and Circuit Citys of the world in the open box or display set area. There are some 34" widescreen models out there but I really like the the full 4:3 display on the non-HD channels.

I got a used one off CraigsList and it works great. Paid less than half of the retail price too.

You may want to try a Sony Factory Outlet if there is one near you.

You just might find a refurb or returned old stock there.
