I just recieved my TV today and it's pretty incredible. However, I just noticed that when I turn the TV on, there's a buzzing noise before the pictures comes on. Is this standard or is there something wrong?

It sounds like some kind of motor or something.

It's the color wheel. It should be fairly quiet in the background when watching TV. If it's a loud buzzing even after the picture comes on, it needs to be fixed.

I just received this TV after having a S5087w and that one never made such noises.You can exchange it or have it repaired is the noise bothers you. It's possible that it's an indication of future trouble. On an older model I can't detect the color wheel until after I start to shut down the TV.

For an exchange I would call BB first.

When I turn on my older DLP, I hear more of a whirring sound as the color wheel starts turning. I wouldn't call it a buzzing. You may want to go to a store, turn it off, wait a few minutes, and turn it on again to make sure yours is abnormal.
