To make a long story short, my monitor displays images correctly when supplied with a 16-235 colorspace vs the RGB standard 0-255. (0-255 from any source produces severly crushes blacks).
I built a simple YPbPr to VGA transcoder found HERE (http://home.kc.rr.com/c959/transcoder.zip) : and would like to modify the design a bit to output a 16-235 colorspace. I'm pretty sure this would merely entail changing the value of a few resistors.
I have researched transcoder design and found several websites with helpfull info (shown below). However, I cannot for the life of me figure out how the coefficient values for the 0-255 (and 16-235) standards are used to come up with the pre-amp resistor values.
Could someone more knowledgeable please shed some light on this?
Table 3 in the following PDF has a coefficient value table for both 0-255 and 16-235:
