I was watching the game today (3/6) with the Lakers agaisnt the Timberwolves (road game). It said that the game was being broadcasted in HD if one had TWC. On the website, it implied that one could get the game in HD through OTA, but I only got the letter-box (pillared version).

I have only watched Laker games on KCAL in Jan and just today, but supposedly they started broadcasting in HD early Feb. Is it possible that it was just this game that they didn't broadcast in HD or is it that the HD version is only availible to TWC customers?

Here's the link that implies Laker games are broadcast in HD OTA:

OTA 9.1 is in HD. Antenna is all you need. BItrate on this channel is 17+mbps.

Please don't insult my intelligence. That is what I am doing. Please, why the heck would I use anal;og cable on my HDTV? That still doesn't answer my question. Did anyone else also notice that the gam wasnt broadcasted in HD when it apparently should hace been in HD?

I saw part of 1OT and it was in SD for a while then switched to HD

btw, how DOES KCAL manage to do this? are they piggybacking on the local HD coverage? for those not in L.A., KCAL is a local independent station not affiliated w/ the big 4 or CW or myHD, though they were recently bought by cbs/viacom. They cover Lakers road games and have been doing most (all?) games in HD this year. pretty impressive considering as recently as last year, ABC did not do all NBA games in HD (they may not still).

I didn't watch the whole game, but everytime I turned it on it was in SD. This is the first time I have noticed this since Ch. 9 started broadcasting road games in HD in early Feb.
