After weeks of dealing with Bestbuy online sending me the wrong DVD twice, I finally received my copy of The Departed in the mail yesterday. Since I placed the order over two weeks ago I was excited to be able to sit down last night and watch one of my favorite movies of '06. I popped the DVD into the drive last night and just received the message "reading" in the dashboard. I tried ejecting the movie a couple of times and re-loading to no avail. I unplugged the drive, both the power and the usb cord, nothing. I double checked the disc for any scratches, nothing, the disc literally went from the packaging to the drive! I've got 6 HD movies all which I've had no problem with and a couple HD movies in my house at the moment from Blockbuster online. All of these movies loaded up fine with no problems, but still nothing from the Departed. Out of frustration I tried the 480P version on the other side of the disc and it loaded up with no issues, but the HD version still had nothing. Anyone else have any suggestions for me.... anyone else with this issue? Needless to say, I'm extremely frustrated after waiting for so long to get the correct version of the movie and it doesn't even work :mad:

Problem is I purchased it online.... do you know if they'll do an even exchange at a store?

Since it is part of best buy I think you can exchange in store, it is not like you are getting money back so they probably won't mind. Call them if you are unsure.

Just to confirm, I had no problems with Departed on the add-on.

i had the departed on blu-ray... but i have been having the same problem with hollywood land... any ideas

I read something somewhere where people were having issues with the combo discs.... I rented Superman Returns and The Break Up which were both dual discs and didn't have any issues with either of those though.

I also have had problems with the HD-DVD/DVD combo discs. See thread below.

Ditto. I've watched it twice on my 360 HD-DVD add-on without an issue.

worked here as well.. BB should exchange the disc even though it was online...
i placed my order online (but in store pickup)... they tried to give me the SD version, but showed them HD... swapped the order for me with no problems at all...
