Please only answer this if you've had this issue. I've read a lot on it but I still can't tell if this is the green blob issue starting or just a screen issue I only noticed from sitting on the other side of the TV. It could have been there the whole time and I never knew.

On the bottom right corner of the TV there is a "green/black/yellow?" shadow. If my TV goes to an all black screen I can't see it at all but if it's black and white screen or grey I can see it. From the pictures I've seen on the net of the "green blob" issue it appears that you can see it on a black screen as well. I've changed my settings to lower the green level and set it to "cool". This did help. To me it looks like when you put a magnet too close to the screen and then took it away. This is also something I might have done w/ the way my TV is setup. I had one of those magnetic flash lights and accidentally set it down right behind that corner.

Does this sound like the start of the green blob or did I jack my TV w/ a magnet? How did your green blob issues start? I'm worried because I'm 2 weeks over my 1 year warranty and didn't purchase an EW. I've never had issues w/ any Sony products before and from the reading I've done the past 2 days I'm really mad at myself for not doing it. Any ideas? Will it get worse?

Thanks,
MP

The SXRD's are not affected by magnets. However, it does sound like you have a color uniformity issue (the typical "green blob" is not the only type). Normally, they are most apparent on a light gray or white screen.

I've added pictures now in my first post. Maybe this will help?

Welcome to the club my friend, you've been blobed. My 50" is almost just like that. It will continue to get worse over time. I am having my first optical block replaced next Wednesday.

Dang, now I don't know if I should cry or smash it w/ a bat to feel beter! From what I've read of others dealing w/ Sony it sound rediculous. The kicker is this happens a matter of days after the 1 year warranty is up !

I believe the optical block has a 2 year warranty. Might be parts only, check with Sony.
