Hello,
I have a 4 year old KP-46WT500 Sony Projection. I have been experiencing a problem.
When the screen turns black or a night scene I get 6 white horizontal lines that are visible across the screen. They are not straight they are like a quarter moon curve. I have no clue what caused this or how to go about solving the situation.
Anyone run into this situation? Or have an idea what might be causing this. Thankyou for any feedback.

Search this forum for "retrace" or "screen control". Short-term the tv needs adjustment that should be done by a tech, but if you do your research can be DIY. My advice is call a tech for a cleaning, adjustment, and diagnose a possible crt shorting problem... Should cost you less than $200 for the service.

Have a Sony KP-53HS10 which says it's "1080i" capable. Specifically here's what the manual says:

"1080i capable," enabling you to receive the 1080i, 480p and 480i digital TV formats (except for 720p format). By using the VIDEO 5 (DTV) IN jacks, you can connect a DTV (digital television) receiver to view DTV programs.

"The VIDEO 5 (DTV) IN jacks also function as R/G/B connectors with SYNC signal (KD/VD), but are not compatible with a computer's 5BNC video output connectors."

Have digital and HDTV cable (from Cox) and am running a Pioneer HDTV in another location.

Anyone know what I need to do next to get this TV running at 1080i ?

Sorry about resurrecting an old thread. My Sony KP-46WT500 HDTV was a mess when I turned it on this morning. The whole picture seems to be curving inward from the top and bottom of the picture and the there are 3 distinct areas of color: red, blue, and a greenish yellow. The middle of the picture looks better as far as the colors go in comparison with the edges. If anyone has any suggestions on what it could be I would appreciate it.
