Now they have 1 year parts/labor ingredients and I wonder how good those really are compared to the other ingredients in the 2 years warranty sets. I remember when Sharp did this about 2 years ago. The sharp sets were beautiful and now they're half the sets they use to be! Fujitsu is the best! soncomet 03-07-07, 10:30 PM Just when Panny realized the mistake of putting the speakers on the bottom and just before the new Pannys come out in summer 2007 with the speakers on the side Hitachi is taking steps backwards, cheapened up their new lineup and took good looking cosmetic sets and made them ugly and took away the 2 year parts/labor warranty. Maybe those will have styling more in line with the older models. shlinmd 03-08-07, 02:20 AM took away the 2 year parts/labor warranty. Is the 2 years only for the HDT and HDX? tinghai 03-08-07, 03:46 AM Unfortunately Hitachi is falling behind other competitors in terms of Full HD Plasma panel offering. With 1920x1080p becoming a norm in large size Plasma and LCD, Hitachi's 1280x1080 resolution may not be very competitive. Scallica 03-08-07, 12:04 PM Is there a thread started for the P42H401? fireballz 03-08-07, 04:44 PM Unfortunately Hitachi is falling behind other competitors in terms of Full HD Plasma panel offering. With 1920x1080p becoming a norm in large size Plasma and LCD, Hitachi's 1280x1080 resolution may not be very competitive. I don't know about that. The 1280x1080 is a step up from 1366x768, and frankly at 50", any more resolution may not be needed. They are also pricing their sets pretty aggressively (well, just based on the 50H41). Although we don't know the MSRP for the Panasonic 50PX75 (768p), I'd guess that it and the 50H41 (HD1080) will have the same MSRP of $2499. So in that regard, Hitachi is doing something good. Now we just need to see if they stepped up the contrast, because traditionally ALiS panels have not done so well in that regard. But a full 1080p in the 55" size might be beneficial. Plus, they need to bring back their motorized stands!! 42plasman 03-08-07, 07:35 PM Why are they not making bigger LCD's? fireballz 03-08-07, 10:32 PM Why are they not making bigger LCD's? Because Hitachi is probably more invested and focused in plasma technology, and does not want LCD panels taking away from their plasma sales. If they were to make a 42" LCD for example, it would overlap with their 42" plasmas. Thus the LCD may take away from the plasma sales. Panasonic does the same thing with their plasmas and LCDs. |
