New to the forum. Purchased HL-S5087W in January 2007. Original config included Onkyo SR674B receiver, Samsung 960 upcoverting DVD player, and a cable HD box. All components connected to Onkyo (Component or HDMI), then one HDMI to the Samsung TV. Picture kept turning orange (both from cable or dvd source). Replaced HDMI cable (high end) & HD box. Problem disappeared for a week, then returned. Eventually replaced the Onkyo receiver with a Harman Kardon 445. When I connect the cable box with component cables, the Samsung will not recognize HDMI as a source. If I connect only the amp with HDMI, the TV will not recognize Component Video as a source.

Used the HK OSD menus to configure components, used the Samsung menu to set up sources. Same issue.

It is a major effort to switch between HDMI and Component sources right now.

I have been troubleshooting this with HK Service dept and the retailer where I purchased everthing for several weeks and no one has been able to either determine the root cause of the problem or offer even a workaround.

Suggestions ?
