I have a Samsung hln-5065w rear projection DLP that the screen will go to a photo image negative but the audio will work. The screen turns black with white images in the background like a photo negative. I have had in for repairs with BB 3 times with limited sucess. Sometimes the tv will work for up to several weeks with no problem then the screen goes photo negative on me.
I have called BB and the lemon policy will kick in on this service call. I can usually unplug the tv and it will work for some period of time, This time it has be ok for over a week
What is causing the problem and should I get it fixed or ask for a replacement?
The repair man will not come and verify the problem unless it problem shows on the screen.

Get it replaced. When it's doing the negative thing take a picture of it. Stop unplugging it to make it work. The next time it does it, just leave your set on until the service guy comes.

It's not a common failure so it's understandable that no one can explain what's causing it to happen.

It sounds like you must have a BB extended warranty. Your replacement set may end up being a 2007 HLT model.

I own a Mitsubishi WS-55819 projection tv and its also doing the same as you desribe. IT kind of looks like a cartoon picture but its not. Or the the other thing that i can compare it to is a image that looks like a negative to a photo.
