Does it cost anything to replace my digital cable box for an HD version?
All I need it is to view all my channels in HD, I dont want to have a plasma and be stuck with crappy SD alot crappier since it doesnt blend well with plasma.
Also is HD that much better. I mean I can't imagine how much better some of my favourite shows like South Park, Conan O Brien and Judge Judy would look on Hi Def.
I just know itll look alot worse than before if I dont get HD cable

Call your local cable company. Check their website for the pricing, options, and digital SD and HD channel line-ups. Check your local thread in the Local HDTV Info and Reception thread as well.
But you do realize that only a limited number of channels are available in HD? South Park is on Comedy Central and there is not a HD version of Comedy Central yet. Judge Judy is a syndicated program and is in SD only. If you get a digital STB and your cable company has digital simulcast, you will get better picture quality for the analog cable channels.
Questions abiut cable, HD programming, HD reception should be directed to HDTV set of forums.

Actually, we get an HD version of Judge Judy thru Rogers cable. There are a bunch of HD channels in the 501-535 range that come with the Rogers HD package and your J.J. is in there somewhere - in Hi-Def.
For all your other ?? go to their website or call them up, order what you want and get connected.

But J.J. is not HD. It is upconverted SD as is much of the daytime programming. Just because it is on a HD channel, does not make it true HD. It looks better on a HD channel, because it is a digital signal and may be from a good quality digital SD source, but it is still SD. This is off-topic for the plasma forum, so I will stop here.
