Hi. I'm purchasing an 1yo SP777 (confirmed DC3) with about 200 hours on it for my yet-to-be-finished Home Theater room. I've worked through the various calculators, but am looking for thoughts and feedback.

*** PLEASE don't take this down a get-a-RS1/Pearl/Ruby/... discussion. ***

Room color is TBD, but WAF will require some form of light color walls and there is a window (with shade/curtain), so there will be some amount of ambiant light.

Purpose is equally movies with all curtains/doors fully closed, and sports or xbox 360 during the day with perhaps more more light entering.

Seating will be 11-12' away from the screen. Current thought on a screen is 106" Draper ATGrey (woven screen with gain of .8 ) with Speakercraft TANTRA LCR6 behind

Projector placement will be 13' from lens, so closer to "max" throw than "min" throw. I know this is a very bright projector which is good for ambient, but using a longer throw and a .8 screen to help reduce the brightness if/as needed.

I've got a similar room set up (probably more ambient light in my room) and throw distance, and have been thinking about moving from an Infocus 7210 to either the 777 or the Sim2 C3X. My screen is a 100" diagonal Dalite HCCV, which is a gray screen with a roughly 1.0 gain and a nice wide viewing cone (50 degree). It's not as adept at rejecting ambient light as the Firehawk, but washes out much less than the Grayhawk or Studiotek and looks better off angle. Dalite makes a perforated version, but I've never seen it in use. Let us know how it turns out.

I purchased the SP777 after seeing it setup in the previous owners home theater. It was shooting against a Stewart Filmscreen Deluxe Luxus with 123" Grayhawk RS and it was an amazing picture, particularly when watching BlueRay. Problem now is owning a projector with no home theater setup yet.
