I've finally decided to take the plunge into HTPC-land and I want some feedback on my proposed setup. For reference, here are two forum topics I've started over at ArsTechnica.com on the subject:
Thread #1 (http://episteme.arstechnica.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/67909965/m/842007473831)
Thread #2 (http://episteme.arstechnica.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/8300945231/m/828001083831)
What it boils down to is this: I want to use a new Mac Mini to run both the front end and back end of MythTV, so that I can easily stream my DVD .iso files and .flac audio files to my TV/stereo.
I want to know if anyone here has used Apple's BootCamp to install the KnoppMyth Linux distro on a Mac Mini. I haven't been able to find a single instance on the web of someone doing this, although people tell me it's possible.
I also need to know if the Mini can be set up to boot straight into MythTV using this configuration. I want this to become totally hands-off; someone should be able to just pop in a DVD, or use a remote (no keyboard, no mouse) to choose a movie from my library (which will be stored on a NAS or another computer on the network).
Thanks for your input.
