I was interested in seeing what type of screen most Z2 owners have out there.
I have my Z2 with a Dalite Matte White, and feel the contrast could be better.

Thoughts?

Blackout cloth (matte white). Z2's contrast of course could be better...then it would be a Z3, or a Z4, or a Z5. When choosing a screen for it, you have the option of a matte white, which provides best brightness and colors, vs a grey, which provides duller colors but better contrast and blacks. To me good color is more important than blacker blacks and slightly improved contrast. This topic was discussed and debated endlessly on this and the screen forum three years ago when the z2 was released. At the time lcd projectors had very mediocre contrast so screen selection was significant. The newer projectors have much improved contrast, making this debate less relevent except when discussing an older projector such as the z2. If you do a search of the archives here, there are multiple threads where individuals did head to head comparisons of the Z2 and its contemporaries (panny 300 and sony hs10) with different screen materials.

Same here, still going strong on a Dalite High Contrast Matte White(HCMW) screen. The HCMW is a slightly grey screen that looks like it's off white.

Also using straight blackout cloth. In fact its horribly tacked up on the wall right now..... I'm too lazy to fix it and have been aching for a new PJ anyway :p

I'm so glad I didn't buy a good screen.

My dog attacks the screen every time an HD dog is displayed. No screen could have survived this onslaught.

Backout cloth to this day. Need to restretch soon since it is starting to sag now (my build was probaly sucky since it was my first one).

Carada Brilliant White. I ran the white painted wall for 2 years and thought I was pretty satisfied. Getting Carada made the Z2 a new projector. Getting an Optoma HD73 made the Z2 a gift to my neighbor.

A screen wouldn't have survived my Step-Daughter (wrote obscenities with permanent marker) , Godson (pounds on it, throws things at it), and coming soon: Grandchild.

I want a screen but I will probably just upgrade the pj and deal with the painted MDF until the youngin's are mature enough to leave the screen alone.

Bought the pj during its debut month and it is still going strong on its original bulb.
