Universal Pictures have announced the UK HD DVD release of The Holiday for 2nd April 2007 priced at £24.99. Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jude Law and Jack Black star in this romantic drama written and directed by Nancy Meyers.

Scheduled to arrive one week after the DVD release The Holiday is notable for being one of those instances where the film is Blu-ray Disc exclusive in the USA, and HD DVD exclusive in the rest of the world. Unfortunately the HD DVD release mimics the UK DVD release and is barebones.

Audio: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese (Dolby Digital Plus 5.1)
Subtitles: English, SDH, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Swedish, Danish, Finnish, Dutch, Norwegian, Portuguese.

Picture of the Box enclosed.

I thought it was bad. And really long. Which is what happens when you focus on two different romances plus some 90 year-old neighbor who keeps dropping by.

Nice, but 24.99 pounds? holy crap that'll cost a pretty penny to import. Especially to Canada when you add shipping and possible custom charges..

May pick it up on dvd but this isn't one of those flicks that will be in my HD DVD or BRD library.

I just pre-ordered the Holiday HD DVD from Amazon UK for 15.95 pounds (19.03 with shipping to the US). This will be the first time I have ordered from them so I mostly tried it to see how it would work out. That and I prefer HD DVD over BD whenever possible. :)

Just went to place my order, no 10% off yet. Actually, I wonder if 10% is for US orders only.. anyone know?

The 10% off is for amazon.com (US) only.
Though the various Amazons share log in data/customer database (except the Japanese because of the different default character set), they operate as separate businesses.
