Live CableCard Content Streamed over Media Center Network
We've seen CableCard demos in the past, where recorded CableCard content is streamed from one Media Center PC to multiple TVs through Xbox 360s, which serve as Media Center Extenders.

But few have seen live HD CableCard content being streamed over the PC network. Thousands of home systems professionals are experiencing the achievement at the Electronic House Expo this week.

Exceptional Innovation, maker of Lifeware automation software for Media Center PCs, and Niveus Media, developer of high-end Media Centers, are both demonstrating live CableCard streaming, which may seem blase to folks who don't follow the tribulations of Media Center, but it really is a big deal.

It marks the first time that Media Center PCs can receive any HD content other than over-the-air.

Unfortunately, you still can't stream the content to other PCs on the network--only through Extenders.
