5 year old house, already 4 bedrooms and 3 baths = 3,00 sq feet...adding anoth 1,0000 sq feet bedroom and bath in basement

http://webpages.charter.net/icemen/basement/b.JPG
This is the back wall of the main room looking towards the tv...bar on right...tv will be a sammy 61 inch dlp....i have a decent yamaha rxv2500 7.1 surround set up....the speakers up top are the yamaha pressence surrounds

http://webpages.charter.net/icemen/basement/c.JPG
To the left of the tv on the side walls we had to account for some plumbing that is ran inside the house (walk out basement) to keep the pipes from freezing. So we built it out 8 inches and are making a 4 or 5 shelf media rack.

Taken from back left corner of main room looking towards bar. the box is my righ surround location.

looking behind the bar at a pass thourgh we made so you can hand crock pot and junk through to bar as soon as you come down stairs.

Bartenders view of tv.

Arch treatment we gave my office.

Corner of the bar looking to back of room. noticve the furdown all the way to box out ac ducts. that lower ceiling carries all the way left so there is not just a drop down notch. it looks real sharp how we did it.

http://webpages.charter.net/icemen/basement/i.JPG
I added 8 drops into the box. we filled the holes up top so i had to hit the side of the box, mount a board ect ect.

8 port gigabit router, cable modem and cable distibution in closet to right of tv area

All this work took about 6 weeks. I am getting plumbing, electric, and fire safey inspection this monday....then i will start sound proofing, insulating, and drywalling.

Hope to have carpet and electronics installed by april 1.

Looks Great! A few questions:

On the blueprint, to the left of the office, that is going to be a closet, correct? What is the room on the bottom right going to be?

You mentioned that it was a walkout, where are the large windows/door?

Keep us updated with your progress, and one suggestion before you start even hanging drywalling is to be very careful to try to isolate the furnace from the dust the best you can...I didn't and I've got dust all over the house and inside the ducts

I like the layout of the room. I also like the way you put your sectional sofa at a 45 degree angle. I cant wait to see this develop. Keep up the good work.

Excuse the colors...i couldn't decide between flash or non flash.....But here is a view of the bottom of the stairs comming down from upstairs.

http://webpages.charter.net/icemen/basement2/base02.JPG
As you come down the stairs, on your right is a pass through, where you can hand food, drinks, what ever to who ever is behind the bar, or just set it on the counter.

http://webpages.charter.net/icemen/basement2/base03.JPG
As you round the corner from the stairs and slight hallway, you open into the main room of the basement.

Office to the left of stairs with arhed entry.

Not shown are the media distro center (16 port gigabit switch, cable splits, speaker zone b switcher),storage rooms, kids playroom, and bathroom...but they are done.

The wife still needs to add some decorations.

I started January 11th, myself, my father-inlaw, and neighbor did everything bu mud and tape the drywal and some of the plumbing. Doing it ourselves save $15,000 off the average bids we got to have it done.

Thanks to everyone here who gave me ideas along the way.
