Well its been about a month since they replaced my light engine under warranty because of the left side shadow issue. I am now officially out of warranty, and my tv now looks like this:

According to my service manual it says you need to have your DMD board replaced for the problem in your pic.

The money you saved by not buying an extended warranty will probably fix your set if it's not the light engine.

I am just under a month out of warranty. The samsung rep has forward me to the executive customer service reps. They have not called me back.
