Ok, here is my problem and I'm deciding how much dough to throw out.. I bought a Pioneer Z1 for the car and it has a composite output only for the rear screen. I want to improve the picture (its outputting some weird resolution). I have a 7" 1080i/480p monitor

What fairly cheap component (VP) could I use for a composite 480i source, going to a 7" monitor?

Does your 7" monitor only have component inputs?

This does a decent job with 480p/1080i, but it has analog HD15 ("VGA") output...

Handles component, composite, and s-video.
Definitely cheap. Small. It'd be easy to wire in a car, too.

But if you need component connections...

At 7" I doubt you need a scaler.

Huey,

That depends on what his source is and how close he's watching...

I see scaling issues on my tiny 4" pmp...
