Hey guys, need help please.

I'm in this situation where I don't know which one to buy. I've got a really good offer for both of the projectors. I got 15% off for the Pearl, and the Mitsu for 15% LESS than the Pearl. I've seen them both, I can see the difference between them, but I don't which one to buy. I like abit more 'Pazzazz' in my picture, which puts the Mitsu on a higher position than the Pearl. But, every forum I go, most people prefer the Pearl.

Who is the Pearl for and who is the Mitsu for??

I like to watch movies with abit more colour, and i play games as much as i watch movies. The Movies I watch are 40% HD ( Blu-ray and HD-DVD) and 60% upscaled SD.

If you had the same offer as I did. Which one would you go for?

If properly calibrated, hands down pearl is the projector to go for. Well built quality product, superior optics, 1080p/60/50/24 and a reasonable value.

It sounds as if we have similar tastes in displays, I know what you mean by more 'Pazzazz' specifically wrt to the HC5000 and the Pearl. I prefer the HC5000 and have seen both side by side. In my opinion the Pearl does have better black levels but also suffers from minor (or not so minor depending on your tolerance) chromatic aberration issues. It also doesn't appear quite as sharp to me as the HC5000, nor as bright.

If the HC5000 had the Pearls black level it would be a no-brainer in my opinion. Even so like I said, I still prefer that HC5000 but thats not to say I think the Pearl is a poor projector by any means, as with many compromises it just boils down to preference.
