Hi,

I just had my infocus in72 have a wire short and was trying to confirm that thats what happened; and to see if anyone else had this happen to them.


I have had this particular pj since nov06 and have 800 hours on the bulb. while using it the screen suddenly dimmed and flesh tones became orangey and looked like they just got out of a tanning booth. the screen then flickered in brightness before starting to slightly smoke and smell like burning wires. i went to check it and the exhaust billowed out smoke and a spark blew out as a shut the pj down. I'm wondering if this potentially a psu problem? That and the lamp itself was fine. The fuse didn't blow in the unit. I'm packing it up for service as i write this but am wondering if this is usually covered under warranty ?? Any info would be great. Thanks.

I'm thinking any projector that almost catches fire would be covered unless it was kept in a way that blocked air circulation dramatically. Recalls are issued for things like this (as in laptop batteries).
