Greetings all,
I have a TX-SR804 Onkyo THX receiver...quite nice actually with two HDMI ins and one out. Yes, this receiver does 1080p passthrough.
Tonight I broke down and purchased an HDMI cable so I could plug my PS3 directly into the receiver (I have another cable running from the receiver to my television). My TV is a 46" XBR2 LCD.
Everything sounds and looks great. You can even choose an alternate audio input (like CD) while playing, and still see the picture. However, if you do this, you can't hear anything over HDMI from the PS3.
That, of course makes sense...my question is this....how do I get my PS3 audio to play over my television (you can hear audio over the television when the appropriate audio/video channel is selected over the receiver...conversely, you can see the video no matter what input it selected) while the receiver is on another audio input. Like many of you, I am sure there are times when you'd rather use the TV's audio than your 5.1 system's.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
