Hello,
I am looking for the best IR extender for the following scenario. I currently have a plasma in my living room with a D* HD Tivo. I also have a D* R15 DVR in my bedroom hooked up to a 14" crt. I control everything with a Harmony 880. I bought a 32" LCD to replace the crt in the bedroom. I now want to move the R15 from the bedroom to the living room where the other components are. I also would like to be able to hook up both DVRs so that I can use them with the bedroom LCD. The rooms are about 20ft apart with a wall in between them, it is a 1 story house. I have the connection part figured out, but I need some advice on what IR extender I should buy. I have read that something like the Powermid extender is the best way to go.

Would I need a transmitter for each DVR or could I use 1 for both? If anyone has a better suggestion than the Powermid, I would love to hear it as well. Thanks very much in advance for your help.

In my last house, I knew I was only going to be there for about 18 months, so I didn't want to pull alot of wire. I ended up using Powermids and they actually worked quite well

I used three transmitters for different rooms, and one receiver that controlled a directv tivo and a DVD player. The receiver was across the room in a bookcase and was powerful enough to 'blast' the room. The receiver has a connection on the back to connect IR emitters that can be used to control multiple sources.
