Here's my set up. go easy on me. The TV stand and bookcases are hand made (my other hobby is woodworking). I made the bookcases several years ago and the TV stand was recently made after i purchased my new TV.

With my new hobby (HT), hear's the gear i have recently accumulated. I've acquired everything within the last 18 months. There are two purchases left for me in the immediate future. A PS3 and a new subwoofer.

Gear

TV: Samsung 61" 1080p DLP
AV Receiver: Onkyo R530 (7.1)
Fronts and Center Speaker: Primus 150's and C25
Surrounds and Sub: Onkyo HTIB speakers and sub
Satellite: HD DVR from Directv
DVD Recorder: Panasonic DMRES10

that looks great, the tv must be really sharp. Well done. Is it a 7.1 setup? What size room are you in?

Thanks..........yes it is a 7.1 setup. the over all room size is 25'' w x 20' l x 10' h however the portion of the family room (which houses my HT) is 12'w x 20' l x 10 h. the other portion is the breakfast area and kitchen. Lighting is my biggest problem right now cause of all the windows but the mrs.'sa won't allow me to change the drapery so it's not ideal.

I had an old CRT projection TV that was not wide screen. This new set is just awesome. I can't wait to watch a good blu-ray movie when i get a PS3.

I really do appreciate you looking!!!

That's damned fine. Mind if I asked what you used to mount the rear speakers, their weight, and if they are mounted in the sheetrock or in a stud?

I like your TV, no bashing from me...except, why are you wasting this system by using DirecTV and HD lite?

Your TV is being cheated with that compressed HD!

Thanks!!

The rear speakers are from the Onkyo HTIB. They weigh just under 4 lbs and they are only mounted using the eye slots. it mounted using a standard molly and screw and i did not hit the stud. if the speakers were heavier and vibrated more , i would have used a heavy duty wall anchors.

Short answer - costs.

Long answer - I live in the rural area where cable is not an option. Dish doesn't have a couple of channels in their standard or upgrade packages that my kids and wife LOVE. I would have to have their gold option and platinum package to get those channels. And last, i have been a directv customer for 8 years and i got the HD DVR at a steal compared to what Dish would have given me, and believe me i tried.

I agree that the compression of their feeds becomes very aggravating at times and it would be great if they didn't but the trade off for me is what the future brings in the number of HD Lite channels. Believe, HD Lite is WAAAAAAAAAAYY better than SD.
