My somewhat generalized post is directed at the uneven track record of trying to find some titles 2 and 3 weeks or more after release date here in Canada especially - but even the larger U.S. market it can be difficult. I finally went online to purchase Bullitt and The World's Fastest Indian. Because of Casino Royale, Battle Of Britain, and Cars , among others that will be Blueray only I now have both formats like quite a few of you. I just wish that certain HD DVDs were more readily available locally. Vancouver, B.C., where I live is not exactly a small town. It certainly cannot be helping the format.

My local Best Buys I checked don't have it and when I asked Suncoast Video they said none of their stores are going to stock it.
Looks like an eventual Amazon order...

HMV on Rboson usually has releases in first, and they usually have the best selection.
Future Shop on Robson SUCKS
Best Buy on Cambie is better.
Future Shop on Broadway is better than downtown, but not my much.

So has anyone seen Bullitt on HD DVD? I have done a search on Bullitt, and didn't find anything yet. Is it a good transfer (unfiltered)?

I bought it from Amazon. The transfer is fine. It's a late '60s film ... so you've got the usual and typical grain. But it looks just fine.
BTW, the packaging/artwork says it's 2.35 AR. I knew it wasn't (I did a college film class term paper on the film so I knew it fairly well). But be aware ... it's 1.85.

I ordered Bullit from Axelmusic. It was supposed to ship on the 27/2, but was backordered until 27/3, where it finally shipped.

All Circuit City's carry this title.
FilmBuff and Bartender:
There is almost no point in sourcing HD-DVDs locally now.
FS is a joke (even if they have stock their prices are outrageous - compare: Children of Men: FS=54.99 vs Amazon.com=27.95 or Seabiscuit: FS=35.99 vs Amazon.com=19.95). Walmart (Capilano Mall) has good stock and decent prices but does not have the titles you mention.
Are you away of the trick of ordering through Amazon.com?
Their prices are better than Amazon.ca and they do not charge tax and they ship the titles to us through their Canadian distribution warehouses so there are no duties or border hassles. You get the titles that you want for excellent american prices and get them shipped fast through local sources.
I will be ordering a load of titles (including Bullitt) on April 15 (see elsewhere on this forum) from Amazon.com. Good bye FS!
