Hello everyone,
I am moving into a new house soon, and there is a perfect room for a home theater. I will be starting with absolutely nothing so Im trying to cover all the bases. Here is what I am looking at:

Onkyo HTS680 6.1 stereo refurb $260
Mitsubishi HD1000U $1000
100" Projector Screen $100
Ceiling Mount $195
HDMI Cable $38(monoprice)
Component Cable $32 (monoPrice)
S Video Cable $8 (monoprice)

I have a few questions, first off do i need 1 of each of the HDMI component and S video to get video to the projector from the Onkyo unit? I plan to be running into the Onkyo a HD cable box(via component probably), a DVD player(the one included id assume??) some of the time a mac laptop via an HDMI to DVI cable, and perhaps a xbox 360. Can i send the video out from the onkyo unit just from HDMI or do I need all the cables?

Also is there a cheeper ceiling mount out there? I would like to keep my costs below $1,500 for the whole setup.

Thanks a lot for any advice.

The Onkyo doesn't do HDMI at all, as far as I can see. The cheapest AVR that does up-conversion to HDMI is the Pioneer Elite 81 I think. If you got that receiver, you'd only need to run a single HDMI cable, but you'd need to get speakers somewhere else. $270 for reveiver AND speakers AND sub is quite affordable, although I'd probably spend more on sound, and less on display. My current plan is about a 4:1 ratio between sound and display :-)

Would be kind of hard to get a HD projector for $250, though.

If you're running cables inside drywall, I'd run the HDMI anyway, because it will be useful later (and tearing up drywall is a pain).
