Looking for a Ceiling mount that puts the projector as close to the ceiling as possible. I am hoping that someone has looked into this for the same reason as myself and can give me the best answer.

Also where is the best place to pick up hdmi, component video cables? I will need to go a good distance and would prefer to keep costs down. Any Ideas appreciated!!!!!!!!

If I plan on using this projector for all purposes std tv/hd/dvd/games/computer...what screen size/type would be recommended? I am looking for an electric screen that is mounted in the ceiling. The room can be 97% light controlled but still looking for a bit of pop out of the screen regardless. Rather have it and make projector setting adjustments to compensate. Another question is I am going to have to place the center channel behind the screen near the ceiling, what would be the best screen that would allow for the sound to project through the screen?

I have so many questions but excited as hell to get this all worked out and done, love the projector!!!

Any help directions etc appreciated!!!!!

I can't help with the ceiling mount but try Eastporters for your electric screen. I have one from them. Reasonably priced and quality seems good so far. For cables you should try Monoprice or Blue Jeans. Do not buy Monster cables they are nothing but snake oil. If you really want your center channel to project through the screen you will have to look elswhere as Eastporters does not carry a perforated screen but they are available from all other manufacturers, DaLite, Stewart, Carada etc. Have fun with your Z5. I hope you are as happy with it as I am with mine.

I love this projector once I understood that you still focus projectors the old fashioned way..with the ring around the lens! I thought for sure that was all done automatically within the menu settings!!!! Once I got help on that the picture is near perfect...still need to fine tune it but it's not yet in the final resting place. Redoing a room that will house this beast. Problem is I need a screen and have no clue how to determine the size screen I should get that will cover all of the different inputs such as hd, standard tv, games, computer etc. So many things I need to plan for and I am so clueless.

Thanks for the help on the cables!

The different input sources will have no bearing on what size screen to buy. What will have an effect is the size of your room, is it light controlled, how far from the screen will your Z5 be etc. Try projector central for some good reading on screen choices and placement. The rule of thumb with the Z5 is to not go over 120" diagonal. Mine is 106" and works great

How far back is your projector from the screen?

How did you calculate 97% light control? Are you sure it's not 96 or 98%? :)

My Peerless universal mount puts a projector within a few inches of my ceiling.

Can anyone comment on how loud the Z5 is when ceiling mounted? I found some discussion of it being louder when ceiling mounted (have no idea why), but can't find any reviews to that effect. Doesn't everyone ceiling mount their projector and why wouldn't the noise rating be stated for a ceiling mount?

I believe it has something to do with the location of the temp sensor in this unit - mounting it upside down directs rising hot air onto the sensor, causing the unit to run the fan at higher speeds... I don't yet have mine ceiling mounted, but I can tell you that it's very quiet sitting upright ;)

I knew I would get grief on the 97% light controlled room comment!!!!!!! Its close to 100% :)

The fans DO spin higher when you ceiling mount. It's a "feature" that Sanyo added with the Z4. There are different minimum fan RPM values for table/shelf compared to inverted mounting. For those that have them shelf or table mounted, simply change the mounting in the settings menu and see what the fuss is about. I was really disappointed by this until I went into the service menu and backed down the minimum fan speed values to more closely match the table mount values. My Z5 went from annoyingly loud to barely audible. I just posted to the Z5 Tweak thread with the instructions on how to do it.
